A mixed-flow pump is a type of vane pump that falls between centrifugal pumps and axial-flow pumps. Its working principle combines the characteristics of the two pumps — it transports media not only by relying on the "centrifugal force" generated by the rotation of the impeller (similar to centrifugal pumps) but also by the "thrust" of the impeller blades on the liquid (similar to axial-flow pumps). Therefore, it has the core advantages of large flow rate and moderate head, and is widely used in scenarios such as agricultural irrigation, urban flood drainage, industrial circulation, and municipal water supply. It is particularly suitable for working conditions requiring "large flow rate and medium-low head".
Typical Application Scenarios
Agricultural Irrigation: Water delivery in the main canals of large-scale irrigation areas, and large-area sprinkler/drip irrigation in farmland (e.g., irrigation pumping stations for 10,000-mu fertile farmland). It meets the demand for simultaneous water supply to multiple plots by virtue of its large flow rate.
Urban Flood Drainage: Pumping and draining rainwater in low-lying urban areas, and removing accumulated water in underground garages (e.g., temporary flood drainage pumping stations during the rainy season). Guide vane mixed-flow pumps can quickly pump and drain large amounts of accumulated water.
